To create a reservoir you have to click the + icon in the Reservoirs list on the left. A new reservoir will then be added to the list on the left and you can edit the name if desired.
First you have to define the fluid and reservoir model type from the top section (detailed description of the reservoir model type is provided in the next section). You can also define whether the reservoir contains wet gas and specify certain hydrocarbon impurities.
All reservoirs has a standard set of reservoir zone properties you have to fill out, where all inputs, except the top of the reservoir, can be expressed by a probability distribution is there is an uncertainty related to that input.
When implementing the depth of the top of the reservoir ([m MD/TVD RKB]), choose either MD or TVD. This is particularly important when performing a simulation on a well that is non-vertical/horizontal.
The pressure at the top of the reservoir can either be specified manually by checking the Set pressure at top check-box or come from the pore pressure curve.
The fluid parameters (Oil gravity, Gas gravity, GOR) are all at standard conditions (1 atm, 15°C).
Gross thickness is defined as the thickness of the entire reservoir layer, also including parts that do not contain hydrocarbons
Net/Gross ratio is the ratio of hydrocarbon bearing reservoir (Net) to non-bearing reservoir (Gross)
The reservoir length and width (seen from above) are automatically set to default, but should preferably be reservoir specific. The inflow model assumes a rectangle-shaped reservoir. The reservoir length and width impact the inflow performance curves (IPR curves)
As a default, the well is located in the middle of the reservoir
To use a probability distribution to define an input value, click the grey button on the left side of the input field. A modal will then open up where you can select the desired distribution.
You can add several reservoirs if desired which all can be selected in the blowout module.
Note: By ticking off the Set Impurities? option, you can define the CO2, H2S and N2 impurities of the reservoir fluids.
Note: By clicking on the grey button with a unit (m, sg, md etc.) you can change the input unit of that specific property.
